The best OEM (original equipment manufacturer) audio systems supplied with luxury automobiles these days are designed by well-respected professional / home audio brands, like Harman Kardon, Bose, Bang & Olufsen, Bowers & Wilkins, Burmester, Naim and more.
The car environment, despite a few caveats, allows engineers to factor in the known acoustics of the vehicle and the location of the listeners’ ears to create a perfect audio experience.
An audiophile-quality automotive sound system should accomplish much of what we expect in a great home hi-fi setup, though the car environment offers some unique challenges.
In a car, the listener is mostly is in one corner of the environment instead of being more or less in the middle of a room.
Speakers / Drivers, are never at equal distance to the listener and that brings in complications which though can be overcome, however, are not very easy to implement. The right sound delivered in a car demands extensive experience by the implementer doing the install and finally above all the most important part is the tuning.
In the last 10 years we have done multiple installations of premium in car audio systems at car owner’s places in Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Mangalore and Ernakulam.
Every single one of our Sound Quality (SQ) installations done @ EVO, have worked seamlessly along with the OEM / Stock entertainment unit / player that comes in the car.
A stock / original player is the source of music in most premium cars today.
Getting rid of it is not even an option in most premium cars.
Drawback: These audio signals generated by most OE Players are boosted full range signals, these come in with a lot of inherent noise in most cases despite of the system sounding okay to our ears with the oe speakers. However, this can distort the quality of an input signal which we use for any upgrades.
Solution: In order to minimize / eliminate noise, and gain advanced control of the sound reproduced in the car, we install an enhanced Pre-Amp or commonly known as, a Digital Sound Processors (DSP) for re-processing of the sound output delivered by the OE Player.
This gives us an elaborate and varying range of sound controls to generate a full rounded music experience in the car.
Any premium car OE music system delivers a clean balance of sound due to the presence of a factory tuned sound processor and amplifier.
In addition to a DSP, what one needs are compatible amplifiers and speakers and tune them for a rich clear sound experience in the car. Sound proofing and tuning is of most critical importance in these upgrades.
